Blood Bank

Rashtrotthana Blood Bank is a leading Blood Bank in the state which has ISO 9001-2000 certificate. Blood is collected by organizing blood donation camps and also from donors at the Blood Bank. Apart from issuing whole blood, the Blood Bank has also started separating the blood into different components and The whole blood and components are issued to the needy without consideration of caste, creed, religion, etc. The Blood Bank is managed by devoted and experienced medical and para-medical staff and also has in it all the sophisticated equipments. Tests relating to Hepatitis B & C, HIV and other fatal diseases are conducted invariably as required by rules. The Blood Bank has received blood from more than 70,000 donors and has so far issued to more than 50,000 patients. Over 700 blood donation camps have been conducted.

It has been applauded as one of the best and has the recognition and appreciation of National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) as voluntary Blood Bank. It is recognized as Regional Blood Transfusion Centre, by Karnataka State Blood Transfusion Council.

The Blood Bank is has a mobile van containing Blood Bank refrigerator to store the blood and has captive power generator.

Hundreds of educational institutions including professional colleges, reputed I.T. and other corporate bodies, voluntary/social groups have supported us in organizing blood donation camps.

Library and Research center

Started under the guidance of renowned research scholar and freedom fighter late T.T.Sharma, who himself donated a rich collection of books and periodicals to serve as the nucleus, the library has a collection of more than 8000 volumes relating to history, freedom movement, politics, sociology, economics, biography, culture, religion, philosophy etc. Files of old journals, encyclopedia, dictionaries, gazetteers, Government enquiry commission reports, newspaper clippings classified and filed under over 400 different topics are used by eminent scholars, researchers, students and journalists.

Under the guidance and active involvement of Dr.N.S.Rajaram (who has served for nearly two decades in USA in different capacities and is also a well-known writer) the center has been made use of, to propagate nationalistic views.

Lecture Series (Rashtrotthana Upanyasamala) is yet another effort in the direction of social awareness and igniting national consciousness. Distinguished scholars and men of repute from various walks of life and various parts of the country are invited to deliver lectures on important topics.

‘Bharata Darshana’ lecture series with more than 1200 lectures by late Sri B.V.Vidyananda Shenoy, presenting a birds-eye, view of the heritage of Bharatiya Culture is unique in itself. It has reached practically all parts of the country. The same has been commended by all sections of society, as also the esteemed Government Departments like plice administration, tax administration etc. This lecture is now available through cassettes and CDs.
