Rashtrotthana Balaga
Rashtrotthana Balaga (team) came about with an intention to develop public awareness and public service. There are many intellectuals, literateurs, thinkers and service enthusiasts in our society. Rashtrotthana Balaga serves as a forum for all of them to come together in national and social interest.
Activities: The main activity of the Balaga is to discuss and tackle contemporary social problems. Through exchange of views, programmes are also chalked out for transforming society in the right direction.
Festivals are also observed involving the social brethrens. Book exhibitions are also organized.
Besides, cleanliness drives, free medical consultation, free tuition for students are also organized. Free distribution of textbooks and uniforms for students. The rural people are also given education on self-reliance.
The Balaga makes efforts to remove social disparities and encourage harmony.
Through the activities of the Balaga, transformation has come about even among those who had criminal backgrounds. Several families have been saved and caste discriminations have been reduced.
At Karanagiri in Shimoga district, the balaga has also fought for saving the environment when the situation demanded. Desilting of ponds and road construction were also done.
The team works without concern for publicity, as it believes in silent transformation of the society.
Upanyasa Mala
This is another attempt to increase public and national awareness. Scholars from various part of the country are invited to deliver lectures. Among those who have lectured here are: Shri H V Sheshadri, Prof. P N Oak, Prof. K Shripati Shastri, Shri Dattopant Thengadi, Bannanje Govindacharya, P Parameshwaran, Jayatheerthacharya Malagi and Dr. R Ganesh. The lecture series are quite popular. Some of the lecture series have also been published in book form for wider dissemination.
