Our “TAPAS” Boys Qualified JEE Advanced

Bangalore <16th October 2021> They had the merit and the wings, we enabled them to fly!

The 8th batch of Tapas (2019-21), had 32 students. All of them have cleared IIT-JEE Mains and 9 have cleared IIT-JEE Advanced. They’re all students from the poorest background, having the merit as well as the ability, but lacked the financial means. Tapas – a project of Rashtotthana Parishat to Reach the Unreached, made it possible for them to get into the Top notch premier institutions of the country. In a batch of 32, it is highly commendable achievement for 9 students to have cleared IIT – Advanced. This has been possible due to academic discipline, strong commitment, time management as well as rigorous training from Tapas and BASE to help them secure seats at these aspirational institutions of national importance.

Yashwanth Gowda from Gugaredoddi Village, Kanakapura Taluk, Ramnagara District, son of Late Shambhulinge Gowda and Dhanalakshmi (who’s a clerk in a private office) got an All India Rank 4429. He’s interested in pursuing IT/ECE and looking at getting a seat at IIT or NIT- Suratkal. He mentions that he didn’t know about what IIT or even what Engineering is and this could have happened to him only due to Tapas Rashtrotthana Parishat.

Every year, many students from Tapas qualify IIT JEE and join these institutions. Tapas is a 9-year old initiative of Rashtrotthana Parishat, which scouts meritorious, talented, bright underprivileged 10th class boys from all over Karnataka through multi-level entrance exam and nurtures them for JEE entrance exams along with 2 Year PU examinations absolutely free! This enables them to secure seats at the IITs and the NITs. Most of the students come from rural background and have never heard about IIT or NIT and don’t have the financial means to aspire and/or prepare for IIT Entrance.

Heads of both Rashtrotthana Parishat and BASE are very proud of the boys!  Rashtrotthana Parishat is an NGO, with the focus on education, health and environmental projects.
