Ratha Sapthami is a Hindu festival that falls on the seventh day of Shukla Paksha of the Hindu month Maagha. It is symbolized in the form of the Sun God Surya turning his Ratha drawn by seven horses towards the northern hemisphere, in a north- eastern direction. Ratha Sapthami is symbolic of the change of season to spring and the start of the harvesting season. For most Indian farmers, it is an auspicious beginning of the New Year.
On Feb 7th, JGRV Kalyan Nagar observed ‘Ratha Sapthami’ with enthusiasm and devotion. The stage program began with Deepaprajwalana and pushparchane by the dignitaries.
Sri Karthik Jagannath Guruji, Senior Manager in HCL Technologies graced the occasion as a Chief Guest. I his address he said that sun is the source of energy, Surya Namaskara is a beautiful asana which gives relaxation to mind. He encouraged the students to do Surya Namaskara every day for 5 to 10 minutes, which keeps them fit throughout the day. He motivated the students to practice yoga and asanas which are the holistic techniques to improve one’s personality. He asked students to do few activities such as chanting of Omkara, Bhramari Pranayama and Shavasana, which are often used for relaxation of body, mind, and soul. He encouraged the students to practice yoga every day.
Governing Council Member and Technical Head of JGRV, Sri Kupendra ji and Pradhanacharya, Smt. Gayatri Kulkarni were part of the ceremony.
The following performances were held: Yoga display by the yoga team of JGRV, Pathanjali Mantra was chanted by the students, Sukshma Vyayama was performed by the students, Surya Deva Mantra was performed, Beeja Mantra with 13 Round Surya Namaskara was performed by the students and the chief guest.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 7: ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬನಶಂಕರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ “ರಥಸಪ್ತಮಿ”ಯನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದು ಸೇವಾ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನದ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪದವಾದ ಯೋಗಶ್ರೀ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಸು ಶ್ರೀ ವನಿತಕ್ಕ ಅವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ದೀಪ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವನಿತಕ್ಕ ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಂಗೀತಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ ನೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದರು. ಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ೧೦೮ ಸೂರ್ಯನಮಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಶಾಂತಿ ಮಂತ್ರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
