Cows have a sacred place in the Bharatiya culture. Cows aren’t just an animal that gives milk to mankind. But, it is worshipped in the form of a Goddess. In order to carry forward the pride of Bharat in nurturing cows and to encourage the protection and promotion of cows of indigenous breeds Rashtrotthana Gaushala was started in the year 2007.
Rashtrotthana Gaushala participated in the Swadeshi Mela from 6th to 10th April, held at Chandragupta Mourya Grounds, Jayanagar. Mela was organised by Swadeshi Jagarana Manch with the theme, ‘A Step towards Competent India’.
More than 200 Stalls were established in the mela and Rashtrotthana Gaushala introduced the visitors to the wide variety of indigenous cow breeds nurtured by them and explained the importance of preserving the indigenous breeds of cow. Also, Panchgavya products, organic and desi daily use products and a wide range of food products were kept for sale.

ಸ್ವದೇಶಿ ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಯ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳು
ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 6ರಿಂದ 10ರ ವರೆಗೆ ಜಯನಗರದ ಚಂದ್ರಗುಪ್ತ ಮೌರ್ಯ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸ್ವದೇಶಿ ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿವಿಧ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ಇಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸ್ವದೇಶಿ ಜಾಗರಣ ಮಂಚ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ‘ಸಮರ್ಥ ಭಾರತದತ್ತ ಒಂದು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ’ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಮೇಳವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ 200ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಳಿಗೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಂಚಗವ್ಯ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳು, ಸಾವಯವ ಮತ್ತು ದೇಸಿ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವಿಧ ಆಹಾರ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ಇಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಿವಿಧ ಗೋತಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂದರ್ಶಕರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ದೇಸೀ ತಳಿಯ ಗೋವುಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಮಹತ್ತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
