Bengaluru, June 11 & 12: Jaigopal Garodia Rashtrotthana Vidyalaya, Kalyan Nagar hosted Vidya Bharathi Science and Mathematics Workshop to train the teachers in the respective subjects which helps to guide the children for Jnana Vignana Mela conducted every year by Vidya Bharathi.
Sri Budha Chandrashekar ji, Member of National Digital Education and Scientific Advisor, Ministry of Education, took part in the program through online mode and spoke about how emerging technologies are leading to massive changes in the development of India. Further, he said that teachers should be trained in the latest technologies and also IKS (Indian Knowledge Systems).
Sri Parameshwar Hedge ji, Pranta Adhyaksh gave the presidential address and said that teachers have a great responsibility of preparing the future citizens in various skills required for the progress of the nation.
In the various sessions of the workshop, Sri Vasu ji explained new innovative techniques of teaching HCF and LCM. He also explained how various math concepts can be taught by linking it to our daily life. Smt Shailaja mathaji explained about speed and wavelength with various examples.
Sri T K Prasanna Murthy ji took a session on ‘Fundamental operations’ of Mathematics. Dr. S Ramachandra Shetty ji spoke about the ‘Bharatiya Vaijnanika Parampare’. He described how Indian science has been applied everywhere in the world. With various examples, he explained how applied science existed in India thousands of years back.
Dr. G. Vijayakumari, spoke about the role of teachers and said that ‘21st Century Teachers’ must know the methodologies of teaching mathematics as mentioned in NEP 2020.
In the valedictory ceremony, Sri G R Jagadish ji gave the valedictory address and motivated the teachers to instill curiosity and interest among children towards Science and Mathematics. The teachers shared their experiences about the workshop.
