Rashtrotthana Blood Centre - Bengaluru since 1993
Rashtrotthana Blood Centre is one of the major service projects of Rashtrotthana Parishat. Rashtrotthana entered into the field of Medical Service in 1980 with "Rugna Seva Bhandara" with providing medical equipment on hire, identification of blood groups, registration and providing information of Blood Donors to those in need etc.
Rashtrotthana Blood Centre was dedicated to public service on 30th May 1993 with the initial financial assistance of Smt. Subhadraben Jyanthilal Nagardas Shah (Jain) and is dedicated to serve the society at large with no discrimination of caste, creed, religion, poor, rich rural or urban by providing safe, good quality and appropriate blood to the patients.
- Recognized as Regional Blood Transfusion Centre by Karnataka State Blood Transfusion Council.
- The National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) has recognized and supported it.
- The Blood Centre was recognized as the ‘Best Blood Bank in Karnataka’ for the year 2011-12 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Karnataka.
- Blood processing charges are lesser than govt provided rates.
- 40-45% collected blood is given to govt hospital patients and BPL card holders, 50% to dialysis patients and free to thalassemia patients.
SDJCM Rashtrotthana Blood Centre – Hubballi since 2010
Sha Damji Jadavji Chheda Memorial Rashtrotthana Blood Centre at Neeligin Road, Hubballi was dedicated to public service on 5th June 2010 with the generosity of the wife of Sri Sha Damji Jadavji Chheda who provided their building free of cost to start the blood Centre and initial monetary help from Infosys Foundation.
The SDJCM Rashtrotthana Blood Centre includes a state-of-the-art modern storage facility for efficient preservation of blood units. The aim of the Blood Centre is to provide excellent service in blood transfusion, making safe and good quality blood available to patients with no discrimination of caste, creed, religion, and status, ensuring the availability of blood 24X7.
The SDJCM Rashtrotthana Blood Centre has a storage capacity of 1000 blood units. Additionally, there are facilities to separate the whole blood into red blood corpuscles, platelets and plasma. It almost amounts to saving three lives with a single donor’s blood. Being a 24-hour service unit, it has become the most reliable and go-to Blood Centre when there is a need for immediate provision of blood in order to save lives.
